Welcome to Training Ship Tutira
Based on the shores of Levin’s Lake Horowhenua, Training Ship Tutira is the only New Zealand Cadet Force Unit providing the regions youth between the ages of 13 and 18 with adventurous, fun and challenging opportunities and activities with a nautical flavour.
What is Sea Cadets ?
The Sea Cadets are part of the New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF), which is a youth leadership and training organisation created in partnership by the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) and the community. Sea Cadets are not part of the NZDF but are supported by and get their military training flavour from the NZDF.
Who can join Sea Cadets ?
Sea Cadets is open to both boys and girls from ages 13-18 or who are at Secondary School level. For information on joining, or for any queries please fill out the form listed on our About Us page or contact one of the Officers on the Instructors page..
